Artistic evening
Dec. 17th, 2007 09:59 pmOn second attempt I finally managed to go to Seduced: Art and Sex from Antiquity to Now at the Barbican. I thought it was pretty good and was impressed that I had timed it exactly right to do all of it (I subsequently read the handout when I got home and discovered that the other half was upstairs).
What interested me was partly that the two pictures I liked the most, Lot's Daughters by Simon Vuet (biggest online picture I could find) and especially The Rape of Ganymede by Giulio Clovio, weren't particularly erotic but also that the latter, along with a significant number of other woks in the exhibition, are owned by the queen...
